Criteria for Enrolment – Domestic
Criteria for Enrolment – International
How to apply
Applicants should contact the school and request an interview appointment or apply online and the Marketing Manager will contact you to set a time. If you apply online, your application will be acknowledged within 5 working days. Please take note below as there are different portfolio requirements/prerequisites for each Diploma.
Year 1 Diploma in Applied Animation (Level 6)
2D and 3D applicants are required to submit a portfolio with specific drawings that give the school the best overall indication of the student’s abilities. Click here to download the full portfolio requirements. You are more than welcome to submit original drawings using your creative ability in addition to the requirements.
Year 2 Diploma in Applied Animation (Level 6) / Diploma in Digital Media (Level 7)
2D and 3D applicants are required to submit portfolio requirements as above as well as evidence of prior learning in a field relating to animation. If this is not possible then a reference and contact details for your most recent employer relevant to animation will be requested. You may also be required to complete an entry assessment (which will be provided by the marketing manager) to assess your current skill level.
If you wish to apply under these criteria please contact the school to arrange an appointment to discuss your options.
Acceptance to the course
This will be based on the strength of artistic ability, enthusiasm, maturity, communicative ability, commitment, level of written and spoken English, and prior experience or achievements.
It is to your advantage to apply as early as possible since our program can only accommodate a limited number of students each year. Freelance only offers one intake at the start of each year.
**We strongly recommend that any domestic applicant apply no later than six weeks before the course start date to ensure that your enrolment is complete, course fees have been processed in time and there are no delays in starting.
