Freelance Animation is proud to be sponsoring Overload again this year. Running for two days on the 23rd and 24th of July the event is much larger this year than it has been previously. The event showcases the best in local Anime, Manga and traditional comic drawing as well as giving amateur artists a platform to showcase their work and meet other artists.
Freelance Animation will be running a special drawing panel focusing on basic drawing foundation and common problems that beginning artists often face. They will also be present handing out full time course information and drawing fan art for sale. If you’re a budding Anime or Manga Artists or a collector we suggest you come and visit us.
The initial aim of Overload was to give New Zealand Anime and Manga artists an opportunity to showcase their artwork. While this is still the underlying theme that runs throughout Overload, the event itself has grown to include many avenues of Anime and Manga fandom and created a festive atmosphere. Overload is expanding to encompass western art styles and comics by inviting local pop-culture artists.
This year the festival has special guests Designer of Bro’Town and Author of Shaolin Burning Ant Sang and WorldCosplaySummit 2009 Grand Champion Yuri Inaba from Japan.
