Freelance Animation offers NZQA recognised Diplomas in Applied Animation (level 6) and Diploma in Digital Media (level 7).
Freelance assesses these Diploma standards using it’s own local units which allows tutors to regularly review and improve the curriculum, which reflect local and international industry trends. Staff at Freelance are in frequent contact with local studios to ensure they are offering students the latest techniques and software training and regularly make enhancements to existing units and assessment standards.
The Diploma assignments and assessments have been created to best simulate a real studio environment, challenging students in various disciplines which they would face day to day as a professional animator including; time management, pre production, animation, post production, voice acting, animation theory, directing and editing. The qualification aims not only to give students experience in current animation trends and techniques but is project and problem solving orientated to prepare them for freelance or studio work after graduation.
